Another Nights Tale

Since the day she came to Toxia she could pretty much guarantee there was nothing consistent about every day affairs. The only thing that seemed to be consistent in Toxia were the people.. but not their attitudes. Take for example one particular individual she has known since arriving there. Dev. Dev had been an example of a pure Righteous, they joked they laughed, “Grandpa” as she liked to call him was a good friend. They fought together, laughed together until the day she could no longer bring her self to feel for the Righteous. She had turned slowly over a period of time before joining the shadows.

Dev also eventually changed, no longer feeling the call to help god but to make one with his animalistic instincts.. He quickly became the pack Alpha.. They managed to eventually start talking again, everything seemed, almost normal for a bit between their friendship.. till the day that Dev died and became an angel once again moving back to be with the Righteous. An angel that knew Vishous, knew her probably to well.

Her hand tightened around her ar 4’s as she looked Dev in the face.. this was not the first time that this angel came to her threatening her. He thought she needed a change, she was malicious and evil and needed to pay for her sins. She thought he was crazy. Despite how much Dev thought that she needed to pay or be brought in for her sins, this is the first time that he was actually deciding to act on it. She started to walk back and forth slightly as he was on his knees praying to his gods.. She was glad she spent the extra time this morning sharpening her blades. The blood that was going to flow from him was going to make her smile.

Its times like this that she knew she needed to train harder as Dev was bending down wrapping the belt around her neck. She despised nothing more then being treated like an animal. She had plans for Dev and her veins were burning with the adrenaline from the fight.. she was beyond angry as he dragged her down the street to the beach. Through the shadows she already knew that her family was helping her, she would not be here for long….

Dev looked down to her and started to speak.. Did he really think that talking to her was going to change the way she was? She wanted to laugh in his face. There were no amount of words that could make her do anything. As Dev kept rambling on she watched as Blue and Bri walked up.. apparently he heard the two because he abruptly turned around and started in on them.. As he did she took the opportunity to unleash the belt around her neck and cast it aside as she stood up. She walked over to join her family as she looked Dev in the eyes. She could tell he was angry.. somethings never change.

He pulled his weapons again, some people never learn.. this time he was going for Blue and she wasn’t going to have it.. She stepped in front of Blue as she pulled her guns from the Shadows and looked at him.. Her body was trembling from the pure adrenaline that shot through her and she was more then ready for him. She knew he thought this would be nothing as he had already taken her down, but now.. she was more ready then she ever was.. Let the games begin..

As she dragged him down the street to the church where her family was waiting she looked back at him, she felt bad for him for a brief second.. things could of been different. He should of left her alone and let her do what she always does and she would have done the same. As she approached the church she couldn’t help but smile as she saw the pile of Righteous at the steps.. all fallen, bloody and bruised as her brothers and sisters towered over them.

As she pulled Dev past everyone into the church she stopped at the alter before spinning around and shoving him onto it.. This time there would be no fun and games as she reached down into her boot and pulled out her trusted dagger. She spun it around in her hand as she let it trace up and down over his body.. She knew as an angel there wasn’t much she could do to him that he wouldn’t just recover from. She grew frustrated as everyone piled into the church including those that felt they were the lone rangers and could save them all.

She pulled Dev away to have a private word with him… she looked down as they stood in the big tub she liked to call a path at all those in the church. She had him pinned up against a wall as she ingrained words into his head. She was smart tho and she knew when not to over stay her welcome as she jumped from the bath and walked out to collect her family and go.

Tonight she walked away knowing that this night would forever have made an impact on both Dev and her relationship. But it was what needed to be done. She was a shadow and she would always be a shadow no matter how much people tried to change her.
